How to Get Gorgeous, Radiant and Dewy Fresh Skin Today

October 25, 2016

Everyone wants glowing, dewy fresh skin. The kind of skin that only Runway models and Disney Princesses seem to be able to maintain on a daily basis, right? And while I know (even as a beauty blogger) that the image you see in print magazines or on screen is most often a beautifully concocted illusion created via photoshop, there are some key things that beauty insiders can reveal in order to help the average woman obtain similarly gorgeous and radiant skin.

Mineral Water and Dewy Skin Mists- I have been a big fan of mineral water facial mists for a while now. And I discovered one of the best during my “All Things French” beauty product phase a couple of years ago and have been a devotee ever since. French brand, Avene has an AMAZING and refreshing enhanced water facial mist that comes in a gigantic 10.58 ounce can (think hairspray sized) that will last a super long time. The light mist of water is cool, instantly refreshing and will quickly tighten pores for the ultimate dewy skin of your dreams!
A second option in facial mists are ones specially designed to give you dewy, moisturized looking skin after your makeup application. I recommend the Japanese brand Tatcha’s Luminous Dewy Skin Mist. Packed with nutrient rich ingredients such as: Red Algae and a specialized anti-aging complex, it is guaranteed to provide instant moisture giving you that much coveted hydrated look to your skin that you are so desperately craving!

Highlighting with both Modern and Vintage Products-Highlighting has become a global beauty phenomenon over the past few years and I often get questions from women asking me how to do it and which products to use. Highlighting areas of your face including: brow bones, down the slender part of your nose, cheek bones and cupid’s bow will reflect lots of light making your skin look fresh and ultra radiant throughout your day. There are some great highlighting products out there including some of my personal favorites: Benefit’s High Beam and Charlotte Tilbury’s Highlighter/Contour powder duo. In fact, by adding a bit of one of these highlighters over a cream blush or cheek stain, you will give your face a natural looking and radiant flush! And never underestimate the beauty products that have remained popular since our grandmother’s generation! Good, old fashioned Vaseline is a fantastic and inexpensive alternative to expensive cosmetics. Just dab a little along your cheekbones as you head out the door! Simple.

Embracing foods that are good for your skin- There is no better way to achieve better looking AND feeling skin than by improving your diet! By eating more of certain foods like: Green Tea, Walnuts, Fresh Berries and Dark, Leafy Greens like Kale, you can enhance the natural and healthy glow of your skin from the inside out!

Brightening Skin Care Products- From cleansers to masks, there are tons of options for you to choose from when looking for the right Skin Brightening product for your skin type. I recommend trying out one of Anthropologie’s most popular skincare brands, Indie Lee. Their anti-oxidant rich cleanser uses Strawberry extract to gently exfoliate skin and provide rich amounts of moisture leaving skin feeling rejuvenated and bright! For sheet masks, go for Sulwhasoo Snowise EX Brightening Masks. This Korean brand’s mask boasts a two week fermentation period in White Ginseng in order to brighten the skin, reduce the look of age spots and improve overall blood circulation. And if neither a cleanser or sheet mask tempts your fancy, there are numerous specially designed facial oils that can provide the skin with tons of moisture and make it look brighter and more healthy. Try out Tata Harper Beautifying Face Oil– Jam packed with Brown algae and Camellia Flower Extract, this unique combination will flood your skin with the right types of fatty acids to plump up the skin in order to give it that healthy looking glow.

Bonus Tip: Add one or two drops of Liquid Illuminator to your Foundation prior to application. I adore Charlotte Tilbury’s WonderGlow.
